Great location for my Trail Ridge Road start. Check-in was smooth and the Ranger answered all my questions. I was a first time camper! The site was clean and I had a great views. Trees have regrown enough to give privacy between sites. My experience there was great. And at day break I could hear moose grunting or wailing. Awesome!

Quiet campground with sufficient space between the sites. A short trail to the Holzwarth site starts at the southern end of the campground. Close-by trailheads with nice walks are Colorado River and Timber Lake. Unfortunately the restrooms are not only old, but not clean, either.

Great place to watch wildlife. But it is very close to the main road. There‘s no service, which is good for the experience. Plan enough time for the Timber Creek Trail.

Love Timber Creek. #4 is close to restrooms and water, little far from dishwashing stations though. Pretty quiet usually. Camp Host is very nice also, she recommended us a few hikes nearby. Great experience.

Great campground with beautiful views! Only downside is how close the sites are to one another, especially when our neighbors kept running a noisy generator. Overall, would stay again, especially to see another elk wander through the campground :-)

We stayed 3 nights. The first full day, we hiked to the Lulu Townsite and back. There was not much there but we knew that in advance. What was pretty cool is seeing the mighty Colorado River's beginnings as a small stream.
The first night at Timber Creek, I started playing the guitar I brought. The campers around us started providing feedback in the form of applause. I felt encouraged and continued playing until 10pm. I believe it was good for them and I know it was good for me. The second full day, we went kayaking on Grand Lake and visited the town. Timber Creek is a beautiful area and left us with many wonderful memories. We did not see as much wildlife as we did on the East side of the park but still really enjoyed our stay. A big thank you to the park rangers.

Great campground in a perfect location. Wish they allowed the use of solar shower bags.
