Excellent campground. We went mid week and the tent camping only sites were empty. There were a lot of mosquitos so bring spray!

The site I stayed at D12 was ridiculously bad. I was bombarded by every flying insect known to man especially gnats. The next nights at different campsites in elk creek no bugs whatsoever. There was probably something dead there or people were doing their business close to the site. It wasnt nature I think that site was poisoned.

The campground itself was good and had a good view of the mountains, etc. Unfortunately, as soon as we had docked we had to leave due to the Hwy 50 closure situation which would have blocked us from travelling to Montrose the next day had we stayed overnight (the campground SHOULD advise travelers about this if they haven't already). Campground was good but our situation made it impossible to stay.

Beautiful place and the camp host, Brenda has been so helpful, our truck broke down and she helped us move to the emergency space and just been so compassionate to our circumstances.
Thank you all for your help!

Facilities were clean and working. Campground and marina staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this location for a camping/fishing getaway. Don't forget to check out the nightly ranger presentations.

Loved Curecanti. The high desert was a new experience. The distance between campsites was the best. And Ranger Robin gave excellent directions.
