Quiet campground with flush toilets. Some sites have beautiful views of the lake. The sites are small and not really made for tents. Fire rings with every site. Bring firewood. It’s close to lots of activities and Black Canyon National Park.

It was a great celebration stop on our tour of the National Parks in southern Colorados. The first stop was Mesa Verde NP, where we stayed the first night. The second day we visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. The very small campground there was full, so we ventured on to Curecanti where it was easy to book the campsite. We woke up in this beautiful spot right next to the lake. That day we had an easy drive to Great Sand Dunes NP.

I stay at Lake Fork every year for one night on my way through the area. The prices have increased recently, but they are still reasonable. I like being able to book via rec.gov for a same day booking. The campground is almost always clean and convenient, with lots of spaces.
The high cliff walls around the area are incredible. And they will remain that way in this area into perpetuity due to private land conservation easements to keep second home mcmansions and artificial lights off the ridges.

Remember there is NO internet or WiFi. When I got injured it was difficult to communicate w/my RV Ins & friends. As for the camping, I prefer dirt vs asphalt, #27 is the best spot because it has morning shade and 1 picnic table that is always in the shade. All site have easy access to the boat ramp. Beautiful water view
wiFi connection

We went to Lake Fork, with our travel trailer, to just get away, and relax. The stay was a success.
