I am very sad that the firehouse doesn't open anymore with the chili, baked goods santa in the back and all the local vendors. Are you guys ever going to bring that back? And the smoky the bear setup in the parking lot! I've been going there since I was born, and it feels like the magic is gone without this.

I had a reservation for Buffalo springs for specific dates. Upon arriving the Host did not have me on the reservation list for any of the dates I had paid for.
I camped outside the campground within the National Forest (dispersed).
There was an existing Fire ring at the location that I chose, which went unused.
I was disappointed that the reservation I had was messed up.
I did not request a refund at the time, only because I was fine. Someone else in my position may not have been Fine.
Thank you for asking.

The campground is good. The spots are spread out for privacy, but close enough that is is easy to have several groups close by. On minor issue, water is via a hand pump and it is difficult to fill water bottles, jugs or anything except for a pail/bucket. We would come again.

This is our 2nd time staying at this campground and will continue to return. This year we had campsite #13. It easily accommodated our 20ft A-Liner and had easy access to the vault toilet. We love the wooded site at Buffalo Springs with picnic tables and fire rings. The water pump is accessed easily and was seemed to have been improved/worked on since last year when it took a lot of effort to get it going and pump a few gallons. We like to fish the area and find this campground fits our needs really well.

The campsite manager was very helpful. There was access to well water. Pretty views.

It rained, not your fault. But, all of the sites are muddy if it rains. The camp host didn't clean and freshen the toilets. There was still paper on the floor from the first day we arrived. And, the toilets stunk badly.
We moved to a different campground.

Lovely spot that's pretty quiet mid-week. Great for night sky observation. Bathroom was very clean.
Reservation process was odd: I reserved one available campsite (#3), but the system gave me another available campsite (#1). My name was not on either campsite when we arrived, so I checked in with the camp host. His hard copy printout did not reflect our reservation, but the site for which I'd received email confirmation was open, so he gave us the go ahead.

Gorgeous small campground! Stayed one night while passing through on our way to hike Quandary Peak (~30 min drive from the campground). Water spickets throughout campground and pit toilets available. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location for tent camping. Large sites and well maintained for a NFS campground. Will definitely use again in the future. For RVs, some pull-in sites have unlevel drives, which made it difficult to level and uncouple campers. Be forewarned - a single hand pump water point.
