Road to the campground requires off road vehicle, glad we took the suburban and not the Camry! Be bear aware we had a visitor on night 1

Took 3yo and 4yo for their first camping trip. Loved it! There was a lot of rock formations for them to climb, a nice 1mi rt hike that they really enjoyed. Plenty of access points to the river and it was shallow and calm enough to play in. A lot of people fishing. They were friendly and engaging. Saw some deer, fish, chipmunks and a lot of birds. No cell phone coverage. Bathrooms were clean. There is a hand pump for well water. You'll be close enough to engage with other campers with a quick walk to their camp so it's not super private

The camp host this year seemed to not have much information about the campsite and reservations and seemed to keep to himself. He was very delayed in updating the campsite placards with reservation details.
The toilet seat is broken in one of the bathrooms

I had a mostly very pleasant time at Spillway site #24. I ended up leaving a day early as my neighbor was using his generator a lot and that made it not so nice....We had a bit of rain too, but when it was sunny it was really gorgeous. Camp Host was friendly and helpful. Toilets were mediocre for cleanliness. Seen worse but have also seen better. They graded the road to the campground the day I left and that made the trip back home much smoother.
