Such a beautiful spot! But the camp host was no where to be seen. I booked a bunch of sites for a group of us and only a few actually had reserved signs on them. The rest said open or had other names for past dates. Luckily no one had come and snagged our sites, but especially after planning a trip for a group, it would have been nice to see that our spots had actually been reserved. Toilets were nasty even for pit toilets.

Beautiful sites near River, rock formations and hiking. Most sites are not very level. Vault toilets needed attention. Ran out of toilet paper and camp host not present until last day of 4 days stay.

Beautiful views of the Tarryall Mountains. Stayed at Site 27; likely most private of the sites in this busy little place - flat parking for a van, also. Bathroom was clean and stocked despite the density. Had cell service.

The camp host was "off duty" when I camped Sunday to Monday, and there was no firewood left to purchase which was stressful. I ended up gathering some wood from the trail near the creek so that I could cook dinner, which worked out fine. The site was really beautiful- I had site 19 and it was right alongside the creek. Lots of families nearby so felt safe. The bathroom was not ideal, smelled and had a ton of flies inside, but overall was bearable. I would go back to Spruce campground- the trail towards lizard rock was SO beautiful.

This is a beautiful campground with plenty to explore. Site 6 was my favorite of the walk-in sites - it had plenty of shade and was tucked back from the other sites. I was in site 5, which was also nice, but right on the trail, so it had more foot traffic throughout the day. Be prepared for a lot of families and kids running around, especially near the creek, but I thought it added to the fun and active feel of the area. Will definitely be back.
