Spruce Grove Campground

Had great weather, and the new host this year is excellent. Hope we get a good winter to bring water levels back up nest year

Beautiful campground, Tarryall Creek quite low, lower #s of people post Labor Day. Host was quite gracious. The camp sites were clean of trash and cig butts.

The campground is beautiful, with amazing rock formations and access to the wilderness area. Some of the campsites on the north end of the campground leave a lot to be desired, though -- one of them is directly adjacent to a chain link fence and someone's RV parking lot. Another has a direct view to someone's house across the creek. The walk-in sites are by far the best spots.

Great campground with fun terrain for adults and kids. Camp host Tim was kind and helpful.

One other camper there and they had to run their generator all day long. Ruined the peace and this place had to offer. Left after one night paid for three.

Loved it

This site is a bit of a walk up from the parking area, but it is definitely worth the walk. Just be prepared to get your steps in if you bring a lot of gear. It is a very spacious site with good privacy.

Spruce Grove campground is in a very pretty area with many beautiful and fascinating rock formations. The campground itself has a variety of open and secluded campsites. We camped across the foot bridge in site number 7 which is on the creek. Site 6 is directly behind it but is hidden by a large Boulder. Site 8 is next to it and, had it been occupied, would have been very distracting sine there is no separation whatsoever between them. Luckily for us, that party never showed up. Sites 9 and 10 are the most private sites but ar3 further away, requiring a longer distance to have to carry things in.

The creek is quite pretty and is great for kids and families to recreate in. It was running a bit low this time of year, but not too low to enjoy.

The campground host, Tim, was very friendly and helpful. The toilet building was kept clean, although the typical odor was strong.

Hiking to Lizard Rock and Haskin Pass was very nice, on a fairly well maintained trail.

All in all, we had a great time there and can highly recommend this campground.

As other reviewers have noted, the campsite designations aren’t accurate on the recreation.gov web site map and need to be corrected. Walk-in sites 5-10 are across the foot bridge.
