Although with any camping site, the best spots are generally the outside one's. This campground was definitely an amazing site. Quiet with an abundance of tree's and a short walk to the lake. This will definitely be an annual trip for us.

Booked for a decent price and got an awesome site for camping! All spaces were pretty close to the water (an awesome lake with Mountain View’s, which was a surprise to us!) Clean bathrooms, but unfortunately at the time there was no running water at the site so it was hard to wash anything. Would love to be back at this site!

We love the Baby Doe camp ground at Turquoise lake. We have been several times and enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, and mountain biking. It’s a great location close to Leadville for daily excursions. Definitely going back next year.

From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 about 3.5 miles, turn right on County Road 9C and follow signs to Baby Doe Campground.

Utilities
- Water will not be available at the campground in 2026; please bring your own.
- There are no hookups available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Each campsite reservation includes two vehicles; additional vehicles incur a fee of $11.00 per night.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site can accommodate a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after designated hours.
- The use of firearms and fireworks is prohibited.
- Caution is advised when traveling to this high elevation facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not leave food unattended at your site; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.
