I am not going to lie-after reading so many reviews on here about the camp hosts, I was a little worried about our trip, since we have two kids and a dog. We had an amazing trip and nothing but very positive interactions with the camp hosts. We were fortunate enough to get one of the campsites on the water. The campsite was very clean and the campground was well looked after. It was great to have trees around to provide some shade and it was a family friendly campground. We will be looking to come back next year and can’t recommend this campsite highly enough.

A favorite activity is to go into the town of Leadville and eat dinner at some of the restaurants there. Another option is to drive to Minturn on Highway 24 and eat lunch at the Minturn Saloon.

Getting There
From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 about 3.5 mi, turn right on County Road 9C and follow signs to Baby Doe Campground.
Highway access
The nearest major road is US Highway 24, which is approximately 10 miles east of Baby Doe Campground.

Utilities
- Water will not be available at the campground in 2026; please bring your own.
- There are no hookups available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Each campsite reservation includes two vehicles; additional vehicles incur a fee of $11.00 per night.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site can accommodate a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after designated hours.
- The use of firearms and fireworks is prohibited.
- Caution is advised when traveling to this high elevation facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not leave food unattended at your site; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.

- To prevent the spread of pests, obtain firewood locally and burn it on-site.
- Firewood is available for purchase at the host site for $10.00 per bundle.
