The campground is one of my favorites in Colorado. The hosts keep the spots and toilets very well maintained and are so friendly. A great location to relax in the woods, walk by the lake and access town.

Hosts were great. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Most sites had good spacing between them. One down side if you have a trailer over 20 ft or so and a long wheel base toe vehicle: We observed that some had difficulties where their back in sites required a sharp 90 deg backing turn from a narrowish loop road into the site.

This campground is really beautiful, my favorite on Turquoise Lake. If you don’t want screaming children running through your site, I would suggest going mid week. Also, parents, please teach your kids to not run through campsites… double point deduction if you do it with them.

Great location. Amazing scenery. Many level campsites and lots of space between. The toilets were very clean. Definitely worth spending some time here.

Phenomenal views at the campsite overlooking turquoise lake and Mt. Elbert & Mt. Massive. Clean facilities and friendly people. Highly recommend.

Bathrooms are clean campgrounds clean but camp host act like cops I read rules and when I turned generator on they had a fit. To strict of a camp site. You go to relax and have fun but have to walk on eggshells

Getting There
From Leadville, Colorado, drive west on County Road 4 about 3.5 mi, turn right on County Road 9C and follow signs to Baby Doe Campground.
Highway access
The nearest major road is US Highway 24, which is approximately 10 miles east of Baby Doe Campground.

Utilities
- Water will not be available at the campground in 2026; please bring your own.
- There are no hookups available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Each campsite reservation includes two vehicles; additional vehicles incur a fee of $11.00 per night.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site can accommodate a maximum of 2 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after designated hours.
- The use of firearms and fireworks is prohibited.
- Caution is advised when traveling to this high elevation facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Do not leave food unattended at your site; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.

- To prevent the spread of pests, obtain firewood locally and burn it on-site.
- Firewood is available for purchase at the host site for $10.00 per bundle.
