Shepherds Rim Campground

Loved #6 campsite - beautiful views, tucked away, and easy pull through for our 19’ camper. The drive in is a journey but so peaceful once you’re there. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful campground, awesome camp host- the best one ever!

Our favorite spot! Campground and bathrooms were spotless. Host goes out of his way to be friendly and help any way he can.

Tim the campground host was above and beyond. He helped guide me to Florence Lake from Himes Peak (recommend doing that, you can walk from the campground to Himes Peak trailhead), he drove firewood to my campsite, and provided a lot of really good info about the entire area. He was working his tail off the entire time and a big reason I plan on coming back next year is because of him. This site was very nice, and I would recommend it, both #7 and #8 had good views. In general, you can walk to the Himes Peak trailhead, and Wall Lake Trailhead and Scott's Bay Trailhead (access to Carhart Loop Trail) are a two-minute drive (also walkable). Do not underestimate Carhart loop, there isn't much elevation change but it's six miles of almost full exposure so if you plan to do that, start early, which also greatly increases your chances of seeing bigger wildlife. Can't wait to come back next year!

The campground host, Tim, was very friendly & helpful. Our site, #1, was not particularly good for our trailer, elevation drop across the pull-through. Leveling side to side is harder than front to back. Although Recreation.gov said there was no water available at this campground, there actually WAS water available. Update the website!!

The area has a number of excellent hiking opportunities. Tim, the Campground Host, is an excellent host. Very welcoming and attentive. We had forgotten our 12V charger and he immediately offered to lend us one. He is very familiar with the area and knows about the trails.

Tim was a great campground host. Very personable and very knowledgeable. Bathrooms were kept very clean. Enjoyed our stay

The campground host, Tim, is a gem! He does a great job of caring for each site and the facilities, and he's very friendly. We hope to see him again next year.

The campground had incredible views, was very clean and the sites were nicely spread apart. Tim the host was very friendly and helpful and was out and about early checking on everything, especially making sure if the campers needed anything. The hiking trails were well marked and easy to follow. The Trappers Lake Lodge had really good food!
