Shepherds Rim Campground

Great spot with multiple hiking trails and the lake so you don't have to get back in the car when you get here. Camp.host was super friendly. It is a bit of a drive to get in here but once you are here it is fantastic

This is a great small campground, plenty of shade from trees. The campground host, Tim, is doing a great job taking care of it.

Tim is a great camp host and takes real good care of the bathroom facilities and the grounds.

Fantastic camp host. Found me a more suitable site than I had reserved. He certainly didn't need to go out of the way like that. Site he recommended was fantastic. Very clean bathrooms, I appreciated the on-site water.

Beautiful, well-maintained campground with amazing views. The host was friendly and super helpful. We plan to return next year.

Trappers Lake and the surrounding area is incredible and so remote. This campground leaves a little to be desired by way of privacy compared to other national forest campgrounds, but Shepherd's is def the best in Trapper's and the most spacious. We were considering just driving in without a reservation to stay at one of the other campgrounds nearby, but were glad we didn't. The others felt smaller and cramped, and unsurprisingly the good sites were taken. Site 11 at Shepherds is ideal for many tents and a double wide semi-level driveway, though there are no views. I'd absolutely stay here again! The host Tim was the best and had taken immaculate care of the grounds.

Host Tim was proactive in seeing that we did not have to change sites from one night to the next. He gets an A+ in our book.

Bathrooms are immaculate. Camp host is very welcoming and helpful. One of our favorite campgrounds.

Lovely quiet campground. The pit toilet was one of the cleanest I've ever had to use. The campground host was super friendly and helpful. Would love to stay here again. Highly recommend sites 6-9. Good views and great space.

I hate to share this with anyone else…but Shepherds Rim is our new favorite campground in CO. Our site (11) was nicely shaded and the campground is very quiet. There are many hiking trails to choose from out of (or easy walk from) the campground - the Carhart Trail around Trappers Lake is beautiful! Best of all - campground host Tim is awesome!
