I had a reservation, but the camp host did not have it. I had two reminder emails, so I was sure I had it. The odd thing was, the previous occupant of site #15 was not supposed to depart until the day AFTER my reservation, but they departed early. Or maybe they departed on time and the host had an error in their reservation. But the camp was excellent. Thanks.

A very pretty campground - flowers were gorgeous and plentiful. Nice paved walking trail leaves the campground and is very nice to walk along. Definitely read all the signs about the history of Camp Hale and go to the Camp Hale trailhead which is a combo Colorado Trail/Continental Divide Trail at the parking lot opposite the Cooper Mountain Ski area. A nice drive to Red Cliff and Minturn is another option for a scenic and historic drive past old mining ghost towns - lunch in Minturn was fun.

I liked this spot. Lots of wildflowers and the pull-ins were good sized. There were good views.

What a surprise! We had previously visited Camp Hale; but was not aware of the nice campground located in the trees. Our site , 8, was deep enough for our 45 rig; but was one of the most unlevel sites in the park. We choose it because, online, it was the only one listed as long enough for us. we were surprised to find that almost all sites will accommodate our rig. We now know which sites to reserve next time. and will definitely be back.

Heather is a great campground host. Campground is well kept. She gave us a tip on how to see a pretty waterfall on the Colorado trail that is close by.

Located 15 miles south of the town of Minturn, Colorado on Hwy 24.
Take I-70 east from Grand Junction, Colorado, approximately 135 miles. Take exit 171 toward US-24 E. Keep right and follow signs for Minturn/Leadville, merging onto US-24 E. After 17 miles, take a slight left onto 10th Mountain Div Memorial Hwy. Take first left into Camp Hale.
From Denver: Take 1-70 west approximately 90 miles. Take exit 171 toward US-24 E. Keep right and follow signs for Minturn/Leadville, merging onto US-24 E. After 17 miles, take a slight left onto 10th Mountain Div Memorial Hwy. Take first left into Camp Hale.
Camp Hale Memorial is accessible via US-24, which is reached by taking exit 171 off I-70. It is located approximately 15 miles south of Minturn on Hwy 24.

General
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- OHV'S allowed in campground to drive in and at out only. Speed 10 MPH
- Water is not available at this campground
- Due to the pine beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade in the campground
- All food, beverages, trash and scented items must be properly stored when not attended. Bear-proof food lockers are provided at each site and bear-proof trash receptacles are provided at the campground.
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (NOON) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.

- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.
- Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday.
- Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day.
- It is imperative that you are clear from the site on your check out day so the host can come prepare the site for the next event. Please don't be the group that makes the incoming group have to wait.
