FF means 'First come first served', except it wasn't. When I arrived I checked site #34 which is supposed to be FF. There was no one there, but the site post showed it reserved. I asked the host and was told someone had driven up and reserved it. I'm sorry, that is not 'first come first served.' The host should not be allowed to reserve a site that is supposed to be unreservable. I did have a reservation, so we stayed, but it tainted the whole trip. Please reverse this policy to how it has worked in the past.

Overall a great experience at this campground. Sites are very nice, spread out, and bathroom facilities are well maintained. Water access is good, and the lake is full as of 7/20/2023.

Beautiful campground with lake access and lots of day hikes nearby. Our site was clean and well maintained, but unfortunately smelled very strongly of latrine.

Amazing location. Beautiful views, spacious campsites and excellent facilities. One of our favorite places out there.

Water level was high which made it easy to put the kayaks in. Campground was clean and quiet. Weather was high 40s overnight and hi 70's during the day. Had a great visit, will certainly come back again.

It was a fabulous two days with lots of kayaking. The space sites with the numbers in the 30's and some 40's are really good. Clean bathrooms and things are quiet and very nice.

The campsite was very messy. A box of trash was under the picnic table, etc. The hosts this season obviously don’t clean up the sites after each camper. They seemed more interested in partying. By the looks of their own campsites, they didn’t care much for tidying things up.

Beautiful campsites with plenty of space to spread out. The bathrooms were kept very clean and the bundles of wood for campfires were a good price. We only stayed one night but already want to come back to enjoy the lake a bit more.
Be aware that there is absolutely no cell phone service. Stop at the Glen Echo store for your last chance to get any forgotten supplies and WiFi (the caramels by the register are fantastic!)

Beautiful, well maintained campground. Large enough to go for walks through the campground. Unfortunately the surrounding area is mostly burned.
