Great get-away from the Denver area. Very clean sites, that have what you need for that weekend get-away.

You are close to the highway, but the road noise wasn't too bad: particularly if you are up in the tent sites 1-4. There is a stunning copse of Aspen trees filled with wildflowers, and great views. The folks caring for the site while we were there ensured it was very well maintained. I'd rather use those pit toilets than the flush ones at some of the bigger parks.

Cold Springs is located near great hiking trails that include some in Golden Gate State Park or the eastern portal of Moffat Tunnel. The campground is small and well maintained. It is close to highway 119 so you do hear noise from the busy highway. Some sites are close together but if you are with a large group it will work well.

Nice campground just into the quiet of the Front Range. Nice overlook within easy walking distance from any part of the campground. Clean facilities and welcoming hosts! Lots of hummingbirds in July, and plenty of social distancing space to roam on a mid-week visit.
