It was a wonderful campground. Clean facilities, spots were clean, and the camp host Garry was awesome. We are going to come back this season before it's too cold for sure. It's a hidden gem of a place

Well maintained in general. I think the host cleans the bathrooms daily bc at night it actually smelled ok but in the morning it'd smell atrocious. Toilet paper is fully stocked. The water area is well drained.
The only thing is weeds all around the campsite are quite long.

This campsite is STUNNING! It's nestled enough in the mountains you will see moose, yet centrally located enough to venture out to nearby towns. Gary, the camp host, is kind, welcoming, and made my little girl and I feel comfortable during our trip. We will definitely return.

We have a small, self contained RV camper so we are able to come to this campground pretty easily in spite of not having electricity. It's great for beating the heat of the front range and is almost always much cooler there. It's located pretty conveniently to Black Hawk, Central City, Idaho Springs and Georgetown. It's quiet at night but with the highway being next to it, it can be loud during the day.

Beautiful campground. Very friendly camphost. Some of the spots are too close to the road for our liking. We found that all of the pull-thru sites are actually just pull off of the road sites with a 2-3 foot drop to the picnic table area. We initially had a pull- thru site, but it wouldn’t accommodate our camper with the slides out. So the camp host moved us to a much better back-in site. Our 2nd nite there we were accused of taking someone else’s site, even tho there’s was not the name that was posted on the pole. Unfortunately the camp host was gone for 2 days so he couldn’t help us. They threatened to call the sheriff, but we stayed in the spot the host had put us in. It all worked out, and we had a wonderful time. There is a very short hike up to a vista with beautiful views. We are planning to return next year and check out more hiking nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cold Springs Campground. The location was absolutely beautiful and fairly close to Denver, Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park. We stayed in site 20 which we did not realize how close sites 20, 21 and 22 are to each other. They share a 3 car parking spot and the tent sites are very close. These sites may be good for groups as they are a bit separate from the others. We would book a different site if staying in the future. Also the vault toilets smelled pretty bad which was worse than other National Forests we have stayed at. Overall I would still recommend Cold Springs based on the stunning location and proximity to attractions.
