We had site 17 and it was well distanced from the neighbors. Water was nearby and toilets a few minutes walk. The road noise was reasonable. Everything was better than we expected.

Beautiful location. The site was very level, well kept and perfect for our stay. Gary the host was very kind and knowledgeable. We will be rebooking there again soon.

We enjoyed our stay here, and it was fun to be close to black hawk for a quick HH visit. Gary the camp host was very fun and friendly. However, Road noise was definitely obvious especially with semi brakes and motorcyclists. I would also caution people that the sites are very narrow, hard for our travel trailer camper with slides and stairs, barely had enough room (ours is 25'long). And our friends had to rig up blocks since their stairs didn't reach the ground. Basically they had to climb up to get to their stairs. We enjoyed the humor of it, but probably wouldn't go back just for those reasons. Small campers and tents will fit better

Site 15 was great with wonderful views! My family really enjoyed our stay here. Although the vault toilets were very stinky.

My only complaint is the highway noise. I didn’t expect to hear it from our campsite, but next time staying here I’ll pick a site further off the main highway. It was great being close to Golden. Views were beautiful! Bathroom house wasn’t quite as clean as the other campground we stayed at this trip but still good. Loooove all the trees

Despite not having a creek or lake directly nearby to fish at, this campground is wonderful! There is some road noise from being so close to the Peak-to-Peak Hwy, but its really not that bad. We were very surprised to have full cell coverage (T-Mobile), too! The couple hiking trails were a nice surprise since there not on any maps. The sites were well maintained, the vault toilets were well stocked and regularly checked on.

The host was very friendly. This campground is always clean and convenient. The new walk-in campsites are great also.

Getting There
From Interstate 25 in Denver, go west on 6th Avenue to State Highway 6, through Clear Creek Canyon. Turn onto State Highway 119, heading toward Black Hawk and Central City. Follow the highway approx. 5 mi north of Black Hawk, to the campground.
