We really enjoyed our stay at Cold Springs Campground. The location was absolutely beautiful and fairly close to Denver, Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park. We stayed in site 20 which we did not realize how close sites 20, 21 and 22 are to each other. They share a 3 car parking spot and the tent sites are very close. These sites may be good for groups as they are a bit separate from the others. We would book a different site if staying in the future. Also the vault toilets smelled pretty bad which was worse than other National Forests we have stayed at. Overall I would still recommend Cold Springs based on the stunning location and proximity to attractions.

Great campsite, toilets were always clean. Having a bear box at each site was really nice (never saw any bears though). Host was very helpful with directions and suggestions.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. The sites are well spaced and is beautiful with aspens, wildflowers and mountain view’s. The bathrooms are always clean. There is a trail that leads to an incredible overlook.

Location is close to Golden Gate State park with lots of moderate hiking trails. Campsite is nice with lots of aspen trees.

Lovely site with a welcoming camp host. Beautiful views of the summits. Sites in good condition, potable water, amenities are good. Nice way to stay in the Boulder/Estes area.

Very clean campground with variety of campsite options (more secluded or adjacent to other sites). Views are spectacular - take the short hike to the Vista for a view of the valley. Conveniently just off 119, road noise is present at most sites. Vault facilities were clean with plenty of toilet paper.

Well-kept campgrounds with a wonderful vista only 40 minutes from our house. Great spot to bring small children for family camping fun.

Getting There
From Interstate 25 in Denver, go west on 6th Avenue to State Highway 6, through Clear Creek Canyon. Turn onto State Highway 119, heading toward Black Hawk and Central City. Follow the highway approx. 5 mi north of Black Hawk, to the campground.
