Dowdy Lake is a true gem in Red Feather. From paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing or sitting there watching the birds and water glisten in the sun, it’s a little bit of heaven! We loved our campsite with the cute trail to our picnic table and down to the lake with what seemed like our own private little area, it was perfection. Our camp host was friendly and helpful, went above & beyond to help us stay an extra night and our site was very clean as well as under the picnic table ! We will be back!

Quiet, clean and beautiful. Paddle Boarding, boulder climbing, hiking & lying in the hammock kept us busy. We will be back to Dowdy Lake for sure! Hosts were super helpful, cleanest pit bathrooms we've ever seen (the kids said they were cleaner than the last campground with running water!). T-mobile service was spotty at the site, but smooth at the lake shore. We had 9 folks, 2 cars w/ campers and 1 tent on a group site and could have easily fit another family. Beware - Summer weekdays often mean construction delays (intermittent road closures added an extra 30 min. to the drive home Monday).

This campsite was great, although right next to the bathroom. It is high up overlooking the lake and had a beautiful view. Moose visited us about 40 feet away, also, which was cool.

The site was beautiful and scenic. The campsite itself was perfect! Laid out nicely! Level and well groomed area for the tent, clean, secure, and large bear box, and large, clean picnic table. The hosts were present, kind, and helpful. The bathrooms were immaculate! They never smelled like port-a-potty type toilets once! Overall, I would rate this a 5 star plus experience! The only negative thing I have to say is that I would not consider #27 an accessible site because there is a staircase between the site and the bathrooms and parking lot.

The campground was really beautiful. I would have preferred full hookups but they are not available at this campground. There is not a convenient place to get water at the campground, nor a place to dump grey & black tanks. Those two items would have made for a perfect get-away
