Dowdy Campground is located next to it's namesake, Lake Dowdy, a beautiful lake, that is unfortunately, extremely popular. Campsites are clean and facilities well taken care of by friendly staff, and yet, are situated much too close to each other, traffic was continually going and coming, all day and night long. Day Use areas, adjacent to Campground are very popular and crowded , and sadly many of the people that use them do not know how to clean up after themselves. It was possible to find a few peaceful moments in the early morning. All in all our stay was just OK, maybe we'll consider it again late spring or fall, when it may be less crowded..

Tent-only area is next to the lake with terrific views and easy accessibility to the lake. Tent pads and table very clean. Clean bathrooms with plenty of toilet paper and a small trash bin inside. Bear boxes available at each site. This was our first time and it was great - we'll be back!

Great spot. A lot of sites are very close access to water and mostly everyone respected the quiet time hours. Campground host was very nice and helpful even when I messed up my reservation by coming a week early. Good fishing too!

The female camp host was visible and diligent. The site was clean and there was a lack of mosquitos and flies. Great scenery and shade.

I grew up at Doughty Lake spent many many happy summers in that area and I love going back. I know the area as well as I know the back of my hand, but they’re still always something new to discover.
