Fantastic experience Camp Hosts are awesome people They work hard and take job seriously ! They are pleasant and alwys available to help or for questions The trail around the lake is great for my husband in a wheelchair though I wish they would build a foot bridge by the tent sites that has eroded It makes staying on the trail impossible and dangerous for a handicapped or elderly camper

We enjoy hiking toward Mount Margaret on the east side of Dowdy Lake - there are many trails in this area. The Sherman Granite produces massive Tors, pillars of rock isolated from others, throughout this region. Very special, spiritual place.

Dowdy Lake is an amazing getaway and not too far from the Denver area. We very much enjoyed the path around the lake and paddle boarding. The weekend was very busy at the day area and many paddle boats and kayaks on the lake but the campground was quiet and peaceful.

Dowdy is awesome. Great trails around the lake and beyond. The lake itself it just beautiful with large boulders and structures coming out of the lake. Campground is clean and spots are well spaced. It is becoming a favorite of ours.
