I just wish that it were easier to book camp sites. Every year gets more intense....trying to book a site or two for a family camping trip and being able to book the best double site for the whole family. Very difficult to book. I spend hours every morning at 8:00 am for several weeks to finally get a spot.

Cleanliness is the top priority when I stay at a public campground. The campground was the cleanest I have experienced to date.

Dowdy is a beautiful lake! Our campsite was clean, close to restrooms, and large. Our neighbors were brand new to camping, and we’re very loud and rude, which is in NO WAY the fault of the facility!!! We had issues with other campers swimming in the lake where we were trying to fish also, again, not Dowdy’s fault. Overall it was a great place to camp!
