Love this place so nice and quiet and lots of room to like a s explore. I only wish they had water hook ups as that would be nice. Still one of our favorite places to go

It seems reservations and sites are being used by camping trailers, etc and not people. People are taking their units up, leaving them and not staying. Then come back on the weekend. However this prevents many others from enjoying Dowdy Lake when unoccupied camping units sit empty for 1- 2 weeks. Can't something be done about this? It has become a major issue the last 5 years.

Clean sites, prepared for our arrival. Hosts explained the does and don'ts. Took our grandsons up, lots for them to do. Fishing, hiking.

We had an absolutely lovely time camping at Dowdy. Such a relaxing camp ground with plenty to do while keeping the car parked.

From Fort Collins, take Highway 287 north for approximately 24 miles to Livermore. Turn west on County Road 74 and continue about 23 miles to Dowdy Lake Road. Turn right, then another right onto Dowdy Drive and continue to the campground.
Dowdy Lake is accessed via Highway 287, which is approximately 24 miles from Fort Collins. From Highway 287, the route continues on County Road 74 for about 23 miles before reaching Dowdy Lake Road.
