This recreation area has sites on a hill overlooking the beautiful Lake Granby. The thing is, the RV sites are jam-packed together leaving about 5 ft between trailers. I reserve the spot close to the restroom/shower only to find out that the shower had been closed for the season. The season ends in the middle of August? That left one shower open in the recreation area serving about 100 or so sites. Our site was rather secluded which was great and our first set of hosts were so helpful and friendly. But if you are looking for a comfortable campsite, this is not the place to look.

Far exceeded my expectation! Every camp site here had an amazing view. I would definitely come back and do it again.

We stayed at site 74 (a walk-in site on the lakeside) and it had lovely beach access and views! Bathrooms were very clean and campground was well maintained.

Because the water was low, many people walked along the beach directly through our campsite, which was a bummer. The rowdy, young vibe made us never want to return.

No hot water in the women's shower.
To make it worse, the campground hosts (Laurie, maybe? Site 126 or nearby) were totally useless, unhelpful and rude.

Perfect for SUP or kayak in the morning. A bit windy in the afternoon. Clean restroom. Nice view.

Bathrooms are old, but overall the campground is nice. There is traffic noise, but nice views, lake to out on if you have a boat, nice beach. Went into Grand Lake for the theater - awesome!

Campsites are close together and small seemed well keeped. Showers were clean no temperature control for water but water was hot and felt great. Our site had water and power but one of the 120 volt outlets had a ground prong broke off in it made it useless. Other plugs worked fine. Great area will do again. Boat dock could be better set up move inspection station away from water. People wouldn’t crowd right at boat dock. People were leaving boats tied to dock for hours at a time. Making half of dock useless for boat loading and unloading. Unloading gear from boats while at dock tied up instead of taking boat out of water and unloading.

KEEP YOUR MONEY. This was the most wild exchange I've ever had at a camp site and would never pay money to stay here again. Reservation clearly shows 3 vehicles allowed at the site. Camp hosts came in blazing as they drove by the site since our two vehicles that were there at the time were parked tightly together to leave room for the third vehicle that was arriving later (which there was more than enough room for on the parking pad). There was an immediate intensity when they approached. No pleasantries exchanged, just an immediate attitude and contradiction from them about the allowed number of vehicles. I tried showing them the reservation and they didn't even want to see it because 'this happens all the time' and argued their paper (which they wouldn't show me) says two and that you have to pay $8/night/vehicle for anything over 2 and park in the overflow. For a 16 person group site (I'll get to that later). When the reservation clearly says 3 cars. So we paid to park the third vehicle in overflow and re-parked our 2 cars at the site to give them more space. Shortly after, the camp hosts drive by again. This time they didn't like how we parked because it 'looked like we were going to try and sneak in another car'. Then two sheriffs arrived at the site because the camp hosts called them. About parking. Remember at no point were three cars ever even parked. No laws were broken. The sheriff's were both kind and eventually asked us to pull one of the vehicles out about 3 feet to make the camp hosts happy. The entire situation was just absolutely dumbfounding. Not that it should matter, but we are all in our 40s. I couldn't tell you a time I've ever had the police called on me, let alone for a disagreement over how many vehicles can be parked at a camp site. All that aside, this is by no means a large enough site to fit 16 people. Maybe 8 would feel comfortable but we had to really squeeze together to get tents set up for everyone. Bathrooms were also not clean.
