Stillwater (colorado)

I was in site 101 for a week. Nice view of the lake and mountains. Almost a secluded site. Enjoyed sunrises and sunsets. No hook ups (anticipated) but water was available, trash was close and the mountain altitude helped my solar charge quickly and efficiently. The camp hosts handled some rowdy, fighting, cussing campers quickly and efficiently once they knew about the situation. They also followed up daily to be sure I was feeling safe (solo female) at all times. I'll be back here for sure!

The spot is kind of small for tent camping

The walk-to tent area on B Loop is right on the water. Site 67 has a little beach and is very nice. I was very excited and happy to be there. I drove to my site and set up. No host ever came by to check on me. The site itself was awesome. What followed wasn't: Throughout the day after I set up droves of people who were NOT campers invaded the various sites next to me and tried to set up and picnic, hang out with their families and disturb those who PAID to be there such as myself. Throughout that afternoon no less than 4 groups of people came into the reserved campsites of OTHER people to picnic, fish, party, etc. I came early to relax and ENJOY my site, only to be disturbed NOT by fellow campers, but by random people who came in to use the RESERVED SITES as a picnic area.

Finally FOUR trucks filled with 30 people pulled up. The actual people who reserved the campsite couldn't get into their parking place or site! I went and got the camp host at Site 30. The hosts were a younger couple who actually seemed annoyed and proceeded to yell at me, called me rude and dismissive. I was told: "It's a campground, what do you expect?". When I pointed out that they weren't campers I was told that I was rude because I "banged on their door" at 4 pm in the afternoon!

I couldn't believe they allow people to invade the campground & use it as a picnic area! I talked to another employee who confirmed that he gets numerous complaints from campers who show up to find other people in their RESERVED SITES and have to hunt down a campground host to evict these interlopers. I had been planning to relax, paddle my kayak and enjoy my site. I felt I couldn't leave my gear unattended because of all the people who werent supposed to be there wandering around the various sites.

The site was beautiful but the hosts at Site 30 were unprofessional, nasty & rude. The hosts need to police this campground and not let people who aren't supposed to be in the campground use it as a picnic area

I like Stillwater. The sites are a bit tight, but it’s a primo spot.

Great campground, conveniently located close to everything and the view was amazing.

The "group" site was ridiculous, they say it's for 16 people, we were 11 and were on top.of each other.

Excellent experience! We stayed with reservations mid-July for 3 nights in the B loop on the water. Out site was mere feet from the lake. The campground was full, as to be expected, but we still landed a spectacular site a week out. Clean bathrooms had TP, flush toilets and running water, no soap but sanitizer. The sites ARE all pretty close together, and there's no real shade due to lake of trees(no hammocking) but the tradeoff is incredible views and you won't be stuck far from the lake. Plus, the other campers were respectful of quiet time and there were no party crowds. Most sites I saw had 2-4 people. It's a short drive to Granby or Grand Lake or RMNP. We will be back!

Stillwater is a good camping location for water activities on Lake Granby. Camp site B-7 has a large enough tent pad to accommodate a 10 man tent. Note: Alot of the camp sites aren't large enough to do this. This location is also right across from the parking lot from the boat dock, very handy. Will be returning in a couple weeks. Make your reservations.
