Beautiful views, campground was always clean. If you need shade, there isn't a lot here although there are a lot of small trees planted. Great hikes nearby, IF you can get into RMNP.

My experience at Stillwater campground was pleasant. There were a few things that could probly have made it better. The campsites are pretty tight to one another, so you get pretty close with your neighbors :). If you do reserve a waterfront site you are still going to have a trek down to the water. I didn't have much luck fishing from the bank. It doesn't mean that I was using the right gear, but it would have been nice to least get a nibble. I probably had about 10 hours of fishing from the bank and sunbathing. I didn't even see one fish roll. That's why they call it fishing instead of catching. As I saw reviews from other sites, this campground is more set up for water boating activities. That being said, the bathrooms were clean and the campsite in general was also clean. If you're looking to just get away for a couple days, have a fire and roast marshmallows this place would work just fine for you. :)

Seriously. I love this campground! It's perfect for families as there are trails to walk along, the lake with beaches close to the campground, and incredible views. This is our new favorite spot that we will back to three times a year (the max you're allowed to book here). The only negative is the close proximity to the highway that you can hear at night. But all the other amenities and convenient location outweigh this.
