What Guests Are Saying
Amphitheater Campground is highly praised for its stunning views, cleanliness, and friendly, helpful camp hosts who enhance the overall experience. While the campground features tight roads and small sites, making it less suitable for larger RVs, it is ideal for tents and smaller trailers. Some guests noted the need for bear boxes and improvements to the pit toilets, but many expressed their eagerness to return due to the beautiful setting and access to hiking trails.

Fabulous views of the Ouray area. Super clean, great camp host! Site 22 has a small shaded area but criminal views right up to the last ray of light. The road up looks intimidating but almost any rig can make the grade. Will return!

Great location. Clean park. Not good for RVs which is great for tent/car camping.

The amphitheater campground does not disappoint! The views were stunning, the fellow campers were respectful, and the campground hosts were on top of things and incredibly friendly.

AMAZING view! We scored the BEST campsite. Only reason why I gave it four stars out of five...the vault toilet. It was hard to breath in their. Other than that...this campground and campsite #10 is the BEST! We'll return again in the future.

Central location for hiking San Juan Mountains and biking to Montrose. You can rent a bike in Ridgeway and bike for hours in any direction. You can rent a kayak to go in the Ridgway State park. You can visit a few breweries and one has a third floor patio you can see the historical downtown of Ouray.
