What Guests Are Saying
Williams Creek Campground offers a beautiful and clean camping experience, with friendly hosts who maintain immaculate facilities, including the cleanest vault toilets many have ever encountered. Guests appreciate the serene atmosphere, stunning mountain views, and proximity to outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and kayaking. While some mentioned minor issues like uneven picnic tables and road conditions, the overall consensus is that the campground is well-managed and a favorite destination for repeat visitors.

Great campground in an area with lots of great camp spots. The camp host was awesome. Very friendly, lots of great recommendations on hikes and the campground was incredibly clean. I wish my bathroom at home smelled as good at the vault toilets here.

Our first time staying in a National campground was a great experience. A clean camp, with well attended restrooms was better than expected (except there’s only so much you can do when the weekend crowds arrive…please people, have some respect for your fellow campers)! If everyone could just pick up after themselves and their children it would be appreciated! But the camp was well managed, the scenery breathtaking, and the fishing was excellent! We’ll be back next year!

There are two Williams Creek Campgrounds in Colorado. Was not aware of that.

Loved staying at Williams Creek. It sets you up in a great location for many day hikes and drives in the upper Piedra River basin. I recommend the Piedra and the Williams Creek trailheads. I was there for three nights in late May 2021, and it wasn't too buggy or crowded. Most of my fellow campers in the section of the campground I stayed in were friendly and great to talk to. The campground host was very nice as well. It's about an hour from Pagosa Springs on a pretty smooth gravel road. There'd been some rain, so it was a little muddy but not too bad. My neighbor who was hauling a large trailer said he didn't have as easy a time. It's a little washboarded. The campground roads are very narrow and less well-maintained but still not bad. It wasn't the most scenic campground. (There are some up on the reservoir itself that were spectacular but harder to get.) But it was convenient, safe, and memorable. I'd stay there again but will probably try my luck with Teal first.

First, the road into the campground is mostly dirt. Very dusty and rutted. The roads in the campground are narrow in places with lots of potholes. The trees overhang the road and rub on larger trailers.
The website showed some sites with electric but no electric was seen anywhere.
The campground was well maintained and the hosts very friendly.
