The hosts are doing an amazing job! The campground looked great, bathrooms were very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There was a vehicle parked in our spot when we arrived and the hosts sorted it out very quickly - we really appreciated that!

Always a lovely camp experience here. The hosts this year were on it - came to our site right away to check in, gave us a parking pass, and came around in the evenings to offer wood ($10). Very friendly and kind!
Our site was clean and quiet with great shade. We went to cottonwood lake during the day which is about a 20 min drive.

This is such a beautiful campground. You can hear the river close by. I highly recommend this campground and site. The hosts were very helpful and kind. They did a great job answering questions and keeping the campground well maintained.

This is the nicest campground I've ever been to! The sites along the river were spacious and had bear proof containers which made for a great kitchen set up. The vault toilets are the cleanest I have ever seen. No bugs and they didn't even smell bad. The hosts were friendly and helpful, even gave us a nice map of the area and made some recommendations for places to visit. I would absolutely recommend this campground!

Beautiful campground. Site F was across the road from the stream/river and the sound was delightful! Bathrooms were clean and site was raked and perfect when we arrived. We were greeted by the camp hosts, Crystal and Lyric soon after arrival. We bought nice firewood ($10. bundle) and enjoyed campfires every day.
Driveway was not level for RV, but easy to deal with. Beware of large potholes in the roads!

road. Highway 306 is paved on east side of Cottonwood Pass.

If reservations are not available, some campsites are first come-first served, also called "Walk-up" sites. First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the SAME NIGHT they are paid for. Due to the remote nature of campgrounds, calling to check availability prior to arrival is not possible. |

About 15 minutes from the Collegiate Peaks campground is Cottonwood Lake Campground, a first come-first served, no reservation facility which is located on County Road 344. It is a very popular site for campers, as well as anglers. Campsites fill up quickly on weekends. Camping and campfires are restricted in on County Rd 344 to developed campgrounds only. Starting at about 1 mile west of Cottonwood Lake campground dispersed, primitive camping is allowed. |
