My friend and I came from different locations in Colorado and met at the camp site. The two car fee seems unfair. Please consider not charging for a 2nd car if you are not in the same family

We had a great time at Heaton Bay campground, it is beautiful there right on the lake and we had a great time in the lake with our kayaks and riding the bike trail on our bikes, it is a really special place. The campground is very well taken care of and the restrooms are nice and clean! We’ve stayed here multiple times and we’ll definitely be back.

We had a great time at Heaton Bay campground, it is beautiful there right on the lake and we had a great time in the lake with our kayaks and riding the bike trail on our bikes, it is a really special place. Absolutely beautiful spot! I don’t camp much, but I will definitely return!! Summit County is my favorite place to visit- so much to do and see, but in all honesty, you don’t have to leave this beautiful campground. Right on water for easy kayaking or paddle boards, nice spacing from other campsites…just lovely all around.

Site was fair. Uneven and small. There are better one within the campground.

Getting There
From I-70, take Frisco exit to 203. Turn left onto the Dillon Dam Road.
Travel northeast for 1 mi. The campground will be on the right hand side
of the road.
Highway access
Heaton Bay is accessible via I-70, with the Frisco exit leading to Dillon Dam Road, which is approximately 1 mile from the interstate.
