We had a wonderful stay at the Peak One location. All sites were clean and in great shape. Campground host checked in to make sure everything was good for our experience.

When I arrived someone else was in my site already, even though my reservation was posted on it. Then the next day the host tried to give my site to someone else while I was away from the campground because I didn't have a tent set up. I use a rooftop tent that stays with my vehicle. What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't actually reserve the site for you.

Great campsite and campground. Facilities were nice. Lots of room to spread out at this site with direct access to the perimeter trail.

Nice campground overall. Good water, flush toilets, and plenty of younger trees. Site #57 is good, fairly level and some trees that provide screen from other campsites. Very nice and hard working campground host. Campground is well maintained. Only related downside is the very low water level at Dillon Reservoir, but the area still offers much to see and do.

So nice having the upgraded bathrooms. Campsites are very clean and well-maintained.
The roads on the campground are terrible , the potholes are huge and it’s hard driving a camper trailer on the road. The National Forest needs to do a much better job of filling the potholes and maintaining the roads in the campground.

Amazing campsite with incredible views! The location was beautiful, peaceful, and a great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors. The campsite was clean, well-maintained, and had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the scenery. Waking up to the views was definitely a highlight.
It was also a great location for exploring the surrounding area. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a scenic and relaxing camping experience.

Very nice campground. We'll stay here again. But, make sure you follow ALL of the rules. This year's campground host was pretty grumpy.

Peak One Campground was a great place to spend a few nights while exploring the area around Frisco. The campground was clean and well maintained, including the restrooms. Site 20 is great because it is mostly surrounded by trees, so there is more privacy than other sites in the campground. The ground is not entirely level (but probably close enough), so I am not sure about using a ground tent. We used our truck camper and leveled the truck with a small rock.
We have not spend much time in campgrounds, so my complaints might be irrelevant to many people. The noise after dark was annoying. A site nearby was using a generator until about midnight each night and some ladies nearby were screaming a song late into the evening. Don't be that person while others are trying to enjoy their time away. By 1:00am the noise had stopped and the nights were quiet and peaceful.
We enjoyed seeing families playing together and hearing kids all around. I think this would have been a fun place to spend time when our kids where younger.

Getting There
From I-70, take Frisco exit 203. Travel south on Highway 9 to Peninsula
Recreation Area. Follow road approximately 2 mi to Peak One
Campground. Please note that the new entrance to the campground is one-eighth
mile south of the Frisco Peninsula Area.
Highway access
Peak One Campground is accessible via I-70 at exit 203, followed by a southbound route on Highway 9 for approximately 2 miles.

General
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Body contact with reservoir prohibited; no swimming, water skiing, jetskiing, or scuba diving in the reservoir
- Filling RV tanks with water prohibited
- Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (ELEVEN) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

- Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This precents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on a Saturday.
- Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day.
- It is imperative that you are clear from the site at 11:00am on your check out day so the host can come prepare the site for the next event. Please don't be the group that makes the incoming group have to wait.
