What Guests Are Saying
Peak One Campground boasts a fantastic location near trails, towns, and Lake Dillon, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers good privacy between sites. However, there are ongoing issues with restroom facilities, as vault toilets remain closed and only porta-potties are available, which some guests found less than satisfactory.

I have been camping at peak one for over 10 years now and we love the location of this campground. It is by a local bike park where you can bike to and enjoy from your campsite. It is also close to Frisco so you can bike there too.
The reservoir is wonderful to paddle board on. However, I have noticed the campground slowly getting run down and in poor condition. Bathrooms have been closed throughout the season, so be aware. porto-johns are everywhere now and and they block the road and add smell to the nearby campsites. the roads are getting really bad and it just seems like this once lovely campground is just not being taken care of. It is very sad for we love camping here so much.

Peak One is a great location close to Frisco , the awesome bike park and Lake Dillon. There are no hook ups but the restroom facilities are well spaced and accessible. Rob and Raylin are great campground hosts and were very helpful on area attractions and assistance with lake access and trailer questions....

Vault toilets need to be repaired.
Expecting a few porta-potties to be adequate for an entire loop of campsites is unreasonable, and frankly disgusting.

We camp five days every July at Peak One. The campground is right on LAKE DILLON (southwest shore), an easy stand up paddle session to the marina. You can rent pontoon boats, paddle boards and peddle boats at the marina. My husband loves to cycle the Perimeter Trail, which is a dirt trail around the lake that he joins just steps from our usual campsite. ( i jog it.) Many people opt to bike around Dillon lake on a concrete and asphalt path. There is a kids adventure park walking distance from the campground. The town of Frisco is just about three minutes. Lots of cute restaurants, boutiques, a great bakery, and great options for bike rentals and excursions. Hiking trails are abundant. Mt Royal is challenging, pretty steep, but worth it. The bathrooms were closed this year and portapotties put in their place. Not sure why. The water level was lower than usual, but still great fun. The views are simply spectacular. Sunsets are amazing. We love Peak One.

Loved this campground. Our site didn’t have much shade though. Short lil walk to the reservoir which I loved. Gorgeous Mountain View’s. Porta potties were decent. We saw a moose outside our tent in the morning!

The campground is situated in a great location, offering access to numerous activities. The site we stayed in had a wooden picnic table in complete disrepair, while some adjacent sites had newer metal tables. The site was also advertised as accessible for 30ft Trailers, when our 25ft Trailer barely fit, with no room for our towing vehicle. We took it all in stride and made the best of our visit.
