Bathrooms are closed again and no water. First night, Friday, everything was fine. Then suddenly Saturday morning, the bathroom were locked and the water taped closed. No explanation, no alternative location not even portable toilets like they had the past 3 years. Not sure what they thought all those campers were going to do - poo behind a tree?!
Site #15 was shaded, fairly private and level.

Campground hosts were rude and obnoxious.

Peak One continues to be a favorite for us. But some campsites are better than others, in this case we found #006 is stated as suitable for a 30 trailer. The road and campsite gravel parking pad are placed at an acute angle requiring a lot of "trailer dancing" to get our 17 ft little trailer in. I guess the civil engineers at the Forest (if there are any left) were having a bad day.... If I were to drive straight in ... no problem.

Excellent access to Frisco, a very cool little town. In fact, there's a beach trail that gets you to Main Street in less than 2 mi. However, the campground is just meh. There are no views, even from the campsites close to the water. The whole campground seems like it has so much potential but is very lackluster.

With the severe drought and super high fire risk, I was very pleased to see the fire ban, with the caution tape around all the fire pits. However, I did see one night that one campsite had a fire - for several hours - and they were right across from the camp hosts!

Getting There
From I-70, take Frisco exit 203. Travel south on Highway 9 to Peninsula
Recreation Area. Follow road approximately 2 mi to Peak One
Campground. Please note that the new entrance to the campground is one-eighth
mile south of the Frisco Peninsula Area.
Highway access
Peak One Campground is accessible via I-70 at exit 203, followed by a southbound route on Highway 9 for approximately 2 miles.

General
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Body contact with reservoir prohibited; no swimming, water skiing, jetskiing, or scuba diving in the reservoir
- Filling RV tanks with water prohibited
- Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (ELEVEN) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

- Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This precents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on a Saturday.
- Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day.
- It is imperative that you are clear from the site at 11:00am on your check out day so the host can come prepare the site for the next event. Please don't be the group that makes the incoming group have to wait.
