This is a very simple and affordable campground. It has a great view and easy trails. The bathrooms have flush toilets and a sink with running water, as well as a spigot to fill jugs of drinking water; no showers. It's ten minutes from restaurants and other services. Easy access to the highway, paved roads to and within the campground.

The rec.gov App was broken and didn’t change my dates when I went in and modified them. I called and rec.gov and they said I had to call the peak one campground to get a refund. The number listed for peak one is “no longer in service” so I wasn’t able to reach anyone. Since I was unable to arrive at the dates I originally booked, my reservation was canceled and I lost all the money as rec.gov said they couldn’t refund me even though they’d had lots of reports of the app not working. The agent told me that I wasn’t the only person that she talked to that day with the same problem. So not only was our vacation ruined, I was out hundreds of dollars. Rec.gov rebooked the site and was able to double dip with reservation money. I’m not happy.

We stayed site 44 in our 44’ class A. Access and egress were no problem. The site was long enough for rig, tow and motorcycle. It was down in the front and required two boards under front tires.
The campground was a gem. We have a good solar package so we lived life as normal. Very pretty and will be better when the reservoir comes up.

Bathrooms are finally open after being closed for 3 (?) years! That's a huge improvement. Site #1 was hard to get a trailer into and there was no good place for a tent either, so it wouldn't be my first choice of a campsite. It sits up high, so you have a nice view, but that meant the it was also very sunny - good for charging solar panels, but not good for staying cool. I love how close to the Penisula bike system this campground is AND also close to the paved bike paths. Water sports are also a bonus in normal years, but this year the water leval was so low that kayaking/SUPing wasn't really an option on this side of the lake. I was there over 4th of July weekend and I don't think I've ever been in a more noisy campground, ever! What was really surprising is that a lot of the noise was the camp host's dog yapping non-stop. Host should have been keeping people quiet, not contributing to the noise. It did quiet down after dark though.

Too bad the lake was very low, but that's not the campground's fault. Disc golf nearby was great, as usual. The campground was clean, and friendly.

Very beautiful and peaceful. Not too terribly busy for early summer in June and everyone was courteous and respectful of their neighbors. We enjoyed a camp site close to the reservoir too.

Getting There
From I-70, take Frisco exit 203. Travel south on Highway 9 to Peninsula
Recreation Area. Follow road approximately 2 mi to Peak One
Campground. Please note that the new entrance to the campground is one-eighth
mile south of the Frisco Peninsula Area.
Highway access
Peak One Campground is accessible via I-70 at exit 203, followed by a southbound route on Highway 9 for approximately 2 miles.

General
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Body contact with reservoir prohibited; no swimming, water skiing, jetskiing, or scuba diving in the reservoir
- Filling RV tanks with water prohibited
- Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (ELEVEN) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

- Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This precents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on a Saturday.
- Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day.
- It is imperative that you are clear from the site at 11:00am on your check out day so the host can come prepare the site for the next event. Please don't be the group that makes the incoming group have to wait.
