We got a site in the D loop and it’s hands down the best loop! Some sites are not as good but the back side above the lake are the ones. Clean toilets and convenient trash dumpsters. Water was limited the duration of our stay. I am highly recommending this place despite your site choice! Biking, hiking, camping and more!

The major issues of this campground was the road to get there, no water and there was no dump station.

After a rocky first trip here this summer, I’m happy to relate that everything was wonderful this trip. The bathrooms were immaculate and everything was very clean and nice! We had a wonderful time! It would be nice to have water available-maybe they will get that issue fixed by next year. Overall, a great experience!

The campground is great. The road leading to the campground is terrible. Who ever ran the road grater down that gravel road last should be fired. I was surprised to see the cabinets in my camper still hanging from the ceilings.

Great location, super nice camp hosts, and the cleanest pit toilets! The camp hosts were also very aware of what was going on in the loop and asked people to comply with quiet hours.

It is very confusing how the fcfs sites work. Apparently nothing open on the weekend. So not really any fcfs sites there at all.

From I-70, take the Silverthorne exit 205. Travel east on Highway 6,
approximately 4 miles to Swan Mountain Road. Turn right and travel for 2
miles to Prospector and Windy Point Campground sign. Take dirt road 1
mile to campground entrance.
Access to Prospector Campground is via I-70, with the Silverthorne exit 205 leading to Highway 6, which is approximately 4 miles from the campground.

General
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Body contact with reservoir prohibited; no swimming, water skiing, jetskiing, or scuba diving in the lake
- Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (ELEVEN) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

- Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday.
- Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day.
- It is imperative that you are clear from the site at 11:00am on your check out day so the host can come prepare the site for the next event. Please don't be the group that makes the incoming group have to wait.
