It is very confusing how the fcfs sites work. Apparently nothing open on the weekend. So not really any fcfs sites there at all.

A wonderful campground. A perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the Rockies.
Great campsites - clean and well spaced apart.
Camp hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Sites really have no shade. It was so dry and hot - dirt and dust everywhere with our dogs just walking around. Huge group of kids were loud all day and night - walking into other sites to get to bathrooms. Biting flies were brutal and bug spray didn’t help. Lake water levels super low and road to Breck closed. Well kept bathroom was only positive.

This is NOT a quiet campsite! The traffic noise from the highway was loud and obnoxious all night. Not to mention, there was a loud concert on Monday night that could be heard across the reservoir.

This summer's hosts are doing an excellent job keeping the campground and facilities clean. New signs are going in. The forest is coming back even though drought persists.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful location! Loved our stay. It was close to Breckenridge so we could go do some ski resort summer activities.
Only downside was we had rowdy neighbors up till about 4am making lots of noise. The camp helpers did ask them to leave the next day but it made for a very long night.

From I-70, take the Silverthorne exit 205. Travel east on Highway 6,
approximately 4 miles to Swan Mountain Road. Turn right and travel for 2
miles to Prospector and Windy Point Campground sign. Take dirt road 1
mile to campground entrance.
Access to Prospector Campground is via I-70, with the Silverthorne exit 205 leading to Highway 6, which is approximately 4 miles from the campground.

General
- Please Note: One RV with tow per single site or one vehicle per tent site. Most sites can accommodate 1 extra vehicle that is not included with the reservation fee. Extra vehicle will be charged a per night fee and collected at the campground.
- Body contact with reservoir prohibited; no swimming, water skiing, jetskiing, or scuba diving in the lake
- Prevent the spread of invasive species by inspecting and cleaning packs, equipment, and tires before using lake or trails
- Reserved Sites will be held until check out time (ELEVEN) the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests.Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation.
- Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed.
- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing organisms by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- Any accepted senior passes must be entered for the discount at the time of booking for single sites only.

- Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday.
- Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day.
- It is imperative that you are clear from the site at 11:00am on your check out day so the host can come prepare the site for the next event. Please don't be the group that makes the incoming group have to wait.
