We've stayed at Prospector several times and really love the campground and location. The site we stayed in this last time, #100, was probably the worst we have seen at Prospector... Not saying it was HORRIBLE, but the table was basically nonfunctional as it was so rotten and sunken into the ground. I also felt like the fire pit was a bit too close to the table, and both the table and fire pit are too close to the parking spot. It made it really difficult to place our canopy as when we were at the campsite (morning and afternoon/evening), the shade was either in the fire pit or in the parking spot. This campsite could use a little refresh with attention paid to the sun's placement. Will definitely visit Prospector again, just not site 100.

The womens showers only released cold water. Who wants to take a cold shower? And there was only 1 shower house open.

Spaced out camp sites, plenty of bathroom/water access, fire rings, flat ground and access to the reservoir. What more could you ask for?

We across Colorado, and Prospector is a new fav—the access to the water, the trails, the wildflowers, the views, the mountain towns but minutes away. What is not to love?

This is a wonderful campground with trail access to a Dillon lake cove. Clean bathrooms, and groomed camp sites. Hosts are nice and helpful.
I’m going back for 3 days in August.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |
| General |
Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
