What Guests Are Saying
Peak One Campground boasts a fantastic location near trails, towns, and Lake Dillon, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers good privacy between sites. However, there are ongoing issues with restroom facilities, as vault toilets remain closed and only porta-potties are available, which some guests found less than satisfactory.

Great location for all types of recreational activities from mountain biking, road riding, hiking, kayaking, and standup paddleboarding. It is close to the town of Frisco which is a town with shops and events to attend in the mornings or evenings.

They still haven’t fixed the bathrooms after 2 years. Port potties don’t cut it.

Still no bathrooms, this is the 3rd summer. I would think by now they would be able to fix them?! The portable toilets they have around the campground were at least kept clean and they didn't smell bad. I love being so close to the Peninsula Mountain Bike trails. That's the best part of this campground. Site #52 had fairly easy access to the lake for kayaking as well (there's a path between #51 and #49) but not all the sites do. I did feel like I was invading the privacy of those campsites. Just know that if you camp in one of those site, you'll have a lot of traffic right next to your site. #52 also had some afternoon shade, which was nice and it wasn't too close to any other campsites. A lot of children/families in this campground, so don't expect much peace and quiet.

Overall the campsite was clean, in a good location and the scenery was spectacular. Unfortunately, the onsite restrooms were closed (porta potties instead). The camp hosts (husband and wife) were very rude, especially the husband. They attempted to extort an additional vehicle fee from us for our TOW VEHICLE that was flat towed behind our motorhome. I have been camping in a motorhome for over 30 years and flat towed multiple vehicles to hundreds of different campsites over the years. Towed vehicles have ALWAYS been included in the camping fee and counted as one vehicle as part of the motorhome. The camp hosts told us that as soon as we disconnect the tow vehicle from the motorhome (as required for BACK-IN sites), it becomes a SECOND vehicle and they charge an extra nightly fee. I explained to them that's not how it works. The camp host said that policy was clearly written in the rules and regulations on the Recreation.gov site when we booked the campsite and also listed on the board at the entrance to the campsite. We carefully looked at both and found it to be untrue. We even called Recreation.gov to confirm and they said a TOW VEHICLE is INCLUDED in the original camp fee - NO EXTRA CHARGE! Apparently they have been doing this to MANY others for who knows how long. The husband even admitted more than once that other campers have complained about the same issue, but he insisted this campgound had different rules than all the others. After having a discussion about the issue later that evening the husband became very confrontational and rude, accusing us of calling his wife a liar and making her feel uncomfortable (100% untrue). He even threatened to call the sheriff - which we agreed to. However, they refunded the money to us and the wife had to stop her husband from becoming more aggressive and escalating the incident. My son was present and has the entire incident on video. We strongly believe they are running a racket to scam campers out of extra $$$. BEWARE!!!

Very nice campground. Flushable toilets were not working while there but thankfully the porta potties were kept cleaned.

Good location. Great views. Clean and quiet. Flush toilets by us were out of order, but others weren’t too far away. We mountain bike so having trails adjacent was a big draw.

We love this campground! This was our 3rd year here! We have a trailer, so I don’t know the bathroom situation.
