Driving from Denver area takes around 3-4 hrs thru Colorado Spring and Florence. The drive is not difficult at all. Once in Florence the sign to turn to CO-67 S is hidden so listen to your GPS and turn when it tells you to turn. No need to fill your water tank in your RV before you leave home the Wet Mountain RV Park in Westcliffe has water for 50 cents a gallon and they also have a dump station. Very nice staff at this RV park. Alvarado campground is very clean and has beautiful views and is worth the drive. Plan your trip and you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the best campsites we have stayed at in from a landscape standpoint. Abundant trees and stream running through campground. Most sites are very spread out and the facilities are clean. Great camp host. Trips to Bishops Castle and in town to Westcliffe are ways to spend time away from camp if youβre looking for options for the less woodsy family members.

Beautifully spaced sites, close to a flowing creek, and a short distance from the Rainbow trail for hiking.
People in town are friendly and thereβs two great choices in Westcliffe for ice cream when the afternoons get too hot.

Itβs a beautiful campground and the trail systems coming out of it are awesome. The bathroom was kept very clean.

Our camp host was wonderful, our reserved site had a dip at the entry that made it inaccessible for us. We were provided with a nice accessible site.

During the covid-19 pandemic a bathroom infested with flies- I mean swarmed with them, is unacceptable. Flies spread diseases and the fact the septic was filled to the brim made it even more unhealthy. As beautiful as the location was, the facilities made it almost null out. Not to mention the people who go there lack the respect, because in the septic was full of beer cans. Was quite sad.
