We had never been to Alvarado C.G. before. The setting was quite nice, camp host was very friendly, bathrooms very clean. We stayed in tent only area. It needed some work. I realize budgets are tight currently but picnic table at site was rotting away & needed to be replaced. Access to these sites also needed some work. We were just happy to be camping again and the location at the foot of Sangre de Cristos was beautiful. Near Rainbow Trail.

This campground is beautiful, well maintained, and the host was exceedingly helpful and friendly. My husband and I were impressed by both the natural beauty of our surroundings and the cleanliness of the grounds. Real pride of place is shown by the host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We always enjoy this campground because it has some hiking trails, has some dirt bike riding trails and it’s close enough to visit Westcliffe nearby.
