Beautiful spot, off of a dirt road so there isn’t a ton of traffic. Very clean campground, saw a ton of wildlife on the hike around the lake. Will be back for sure!

Very beautiful location with lots of ways to enjoy the outdoors. Great views, wonderful swimming area and access to great nearby trails/hiking... including the amazing Florida National Scenic Trail!

The entrance road needs work. Need frequent trash pick up. Campsite great and bathrooms cleaned.

Impressed by the large, well-spaced campsites with mature trees and shade, clear swimmable lake steps away, clean facilities, and it’s situated along the Florida Trail making for easy hiking. (Be prepared for wet swampy stretches of trail especially if you’re heading West out of the campground past Memery Island). Also enjoyed the shorter loop trail that goes around Camel Lake.
Also only about an hour from Apalachicola/Eastpoint if you want to check out the coast.
As far as campgrounds go this is a total winner!

Cozy little campground and well maintained. There is quick access to swimming beach, fishing points, and hiking trails. The only downside is no dump station. It is more than 15 miles to the north or to the south to access a dump station. The road in, FS 105, is dirt, but easily navigated. The campsites and loop road are dirt too, but all level and well maintained. Restrooms were spotless and camp host very friendly and helpful. Sites 1 - 4 have water and electric service, the rest do not.

A beautiful place to relax and disconnect. This small campground has about 10 large sites, some with partial hook up. Clean, peaceful, good hiking/walking, bathroom, shower, lake views, swimming beach … Downsides for RVing: dump station is 15-20 miles away, and the road in is horrible! We could only go 2-5 mph.

The campground is out of the way in a very nice setting. Lots of room for each campsite (only 10 sites, and only 4 of these have electric and water). No real complaints about our stay here. Nice 1.2 mile walk around the small lake on a well maintained trail. Sunsets and sunrises were nice. Hosts were friendly and helpful.
The 2-mile gravel road to the campground has 5 bad places that are rough on the camper. I wouldn't think that it would take much time or money to fix these places.
A dump station at the campground would also be a plus. The bathrooms only have a single stall, but this wasn't a problem as there weren't many people there. Showers have hot water!
All in all we had a great experience at Camel Lake Campground!

Campground was great, though one thing could've helped prepar us- apparently there has been a boil order for some time as the system is repaired. Totally understandable but would be been nice to know we were low on fuel and could've arrived with some extra water.
Also I'm not sure if I'm just not savvy enough but I cannot ever seem to know how to efficiently get topo maps of national forest - it should be the easiest thing but somehow it always takes forever.
