What Guests Are Saying
Burns Lake Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment, ideal for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility and dark skies for stargazing. The campground features spacious, primitive tent sites with lovely views of the lake and access to wildlife and hiking trails. While some visitors noted minor issues, such as noise from nearby campers and basic facilities, the friendly camp host and overall serene atmosphere contribute to a positive camping experience.

A little more primitive in terms of facilities than I expected, and as a Northerner I was pretty concerned about the proximity of the alligators (although it was kinda cool to see them in their wild habitat). On the extra-plus side, the park volunteers we met were just great! 🙂

Beautiful lake. My husband caught 4 bass. 2 resident alligators. Nice sites. Nice campers. Very rustic. Want to go back soon

Exceeded expectations. Outhouse wasn't disgusting. Campground grounds free of trash. Didn't feel feel like camp neighbors were on top of us.
friendly/ helpful camp hosts.

Very quiet during our stay. It’s pleasant having the lake separation between true camper and RV campers. The volunteer camp hosts were great. Facilities very well maintained. We especially enjoyed our neighbor across the road - 8-10 ft alligator. LOL

Twelve, nice, quiet campsites for dry camping on a small lake. Sites were gravel and faced the west for terrific sunsets. Reception Center at Cypress Preserve is worth a visit.

Nice long sites, easy to drive around campground. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Very quiet and peaceful. Saw at least a dozen alligators. Close to airboat rides and Everglades City for good restaurants. Recommend bringing all the groceries you will need as shopping is very limited. There is a dump station at USACE Midway campground 16 miles East and also at the volunteer campground at Birdon Rd and Tamiami which is 9 miles West and appears to be open to the public. We would stay there again, however, we won't unless they grade the road to the campground. It is 1 mile long and nothing but potholes...terrible! Worst road we have ever been on. We actually think the potholes cut our sidewall in our RV tire we had to replace. We have a fifth wheel with tote and pull with a semi-truck (79 feet long). See video of campground on our Youtube Channel "Watts on Wheels".
