When we first arrived everything seemed fine. The campground host was professional, the park was clean. It wasn’t until we setup that we discovered this campground was filled with RVs running their generators for hours on end. There was very little room between campsites as everyone there was lined up like cars in a used car lot. I will say it was very cold when we visited so I get why you might need to run a generator periodically but this was hours on end from 6 in the morning until 9 at night. Needless to say we bugged out after the first full day. I will say the park staff did a nice job helping us get a refund and we were able to salvage our trip by booking another campground using the Recreation . Gov website. All that just to see Alligators in the swamp. We won’t be back.

Great location to Shark Valley Bike Trail, Marsh Trail, Big Cypress National Preserve Visitor Centers are must stops for guidance and maps for things to do. We loved the ranger led canoe trip.

This was our third stay at little Monument Lake. Each time has been lovely. The facility and surrounds have always been well-kept. It's a great place to stay while enjoying birding and alligator watching at Big Cypress National Preserve. Thank you.

What a gem of a campground. Sites were comfortable, clean, quiet. They have a bath house with hot water showers and water available for tanks. The lake is beautiful and location is easy for site-seeing in the area. Would definitely return.

We stayed at Monument Lake for one evening as we were traveling from St. Petersburg to Key West. The campground was clean, our campsite (#28) was spacious and had a great view of the sunset. We are looking forward to spending more time at Monument Lake to checkout the sights in Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglade N.P.
