It was a very small, quiet, and well kept campground. The sites on the water were awesome. There were only 3 rv sites on the water, I wish there were more.
Plenty of room to walk and ride bikes.
Close to shopping and the beach.
The hosts were very informative and helpful.
The bathhouse is old but clean. Only one shower for each gender.

Great camping spot.
Boat traffic in locks is interesting to watch, and a lot in the area to see and do.

St Lucie South campground was very nice for the one-night stay for us (2 adults, 3 kids). We were at tent site No.1, and it was great being along the canal, with a beautiful sunset, boats plying the waterway, and a visit from the local 5-foot alligator (apparently some campers feed it, so it poked around our site, but did not come too near). The mosquitoes were pretty bad at dusk, but we got a fire going in the provided firepit so they went away. the picnic table and curbed, packed-gravel tent area is a plus, and the bathhouse was small but clean. Neighbors (mostly RV campers) were very nice, so overall a good experience.

Very quiet and people are nice. Additional charge station for tent campers was a great idea!

Great spot by the canal. Weather wasn’t on our side but otherwise a great stay. Clean bathrooms and pretty hot showers with good water pressure. Nice to have a charcoal grill, covered picnic table, and fire pit. Would recommend!

We stayed at the docks at Port Lucy camp ground. My slip assignment was dock 5. There was a boat with a 14.5' beam in dock 4. We have a 12.5' beam so there was only 4" of space between our boat and the boat in Dock 4. Dock 6 and 7 were open this dock is much wider than dock 4 and 5. I pulled into 6 with the hopes that a narrower beam boat would be coming. I was told by the camp ground guard that all slips were booked and I must go into slip 5. With the help of other boaters we were able to walk the boat into the slip and fender off the hulls with 4" space between rub rails. Another boat came in and tied to slip 6 but no other boats came in that night and the wide dock was half full with the wide dock open which would have been perfect for us. The boat that was in dock 6 was told they had to leave because there were two more boats coming in. They left and a 8.5' wide boat tied into dock 6 and no other boats tied for the next night. If the personal operating the camp ground marina knew how to run it all slips could have been full with the proper size boats tied in them. I tried to explain this to them but they said you are assigned to a slip if you don't fit you can't stay. Wash rooms were not cleaned the two days we were there waste cans full sinks, floors and showers dirty. This is a gem of a place just needs folks working there to do there job.

Great dock facility especially for the price. However, cleats at the dock would be very helpful!
Restrooms and showers were clean.
Staff was very helpful and responsive.

I enjoyed my tent camping experience at St Lucie South. Nice to watch the boats go by and lock operations. Definitely need to use bug spray at dusk. I’ll be back next year.

The place was amazing. But the weather was terrible, which is not any ones fault. The bathrooms were out of order. I got a refund for one day which is very nice ( without asking) . Yes i would definitely go back. Hopefully the weather is better. Beautiful location. 😊
