We really enjoyed our stay here. Although the locks were closed for repairs, we were still able to kayak and walk around that local area. We hope to come back when the locks are open.

Always a beautiful and well kept park. Anytime we are able to book a trip there, or any other Army Corp park, we do.

It is extremely hard for us to make a reservation for St, Lucie and also WP Franklin.
You need to make your reservation system more user friendly

This is a great little campground. I liked it a lot especially the ospreys that hang out in the trees across the canal. It’s very well-maintained, with pretty water views and has great birding. It’s not the campground’s fault but it’s located by I-95 and Fl Turnpike, which are heavily-traveled. The sound carries across the water river to the camping areas and is very noticeable at night when you’re sleeping in a tent. Bring earplugs and your sleep meds and it will be fine. Other than that really nice.

We understand that the locks were closed for maintenance but we were disappointed that the visitor center and deck were closed. As an aside, the sign, as best as I can remember the words, "If you don't work here, you don't belong here" is rather abrupt. We also think an RV length limitation would be appropriate on sites 1, 2 and 3 would appropriate. The large RV's and trailers block the view for the back sites.
