What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground is a beautiful and well-maintained site with spacious, clean campsites and friendly staff, making it a peaceful place to enjoy nature. Many visitors appreciate the gorgeous scenery, access to the lake, and the opportunity to see wildlife like armadillos and woodpeckers. Although there are some lingering effects from Hurricane Helene, including tree damage and a need for improvements in certain facilities, overall feedback suggests a positive camping experience.

A nice pleasant relaxing get-away camping trip was negatively impacted every morning for 1-2 hours by the sounds of a loud leaf blower. Revving up, shutting down, revving up... blowing....blowing...
The serenity of the lake and a beautiful morning campfire is ruined by hearing leaf blowing every morning for 1-2 hours. Let the leaves be! Someone sitting in an office probably thinks leaf free roads and campsites are VERY important. They aren’t! And because water amplifies sound, the blower could be quite a distance away and still be quite loud.My time was negatively impacted and I don’t appreciate that. You may think it’s not that big a deal - let someone crank up next to your house every morning on your day off and run it 1-2 hours and see how you like it.

We have a very large rig (43' fifth wheel) and site 45 was very difficult for us to get into and get level. Beautiful site, great view, but not super big rig friendly-- at least for our skill level!

Our site was excellent - large and easy access. Campground hosts, Brenda & Eddie took great care of us. We will definitely return to Petersburg Campground!

This campground, unlike most COE campgrounds, apparently has no rules. Sadly, we were camped next to a large unruly group of people. Very loud until 1:00 a.m., 5 dogs who ran loose all of the time, and 6 vehicles, and 5 tents in one spot. Needless to say a very bad experience for us. No sign of any campground hosts or park rangers. We left after one night as we were actually scared to be outside of our camper.

We camp at Petersburg every Fall. Always clean, the sites are big and the Park Attendants so friendly and helpful. The free laundry was a big bonus!

We stayed at site 50 this trip in October, 2021. It is a great site on a point on the lake! This has been our second visit to Petersbug. We will continue to keep going back. Clean and quiet campground. Large sites!
