What Guests Are Saying
Petersburg Campground features friendly staff and well-maintained, clean facilities, making it a pleasant place to stay. Many campers appreciate the spacious, diverse sites and beautiful views, despite ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene, which has affected some amenities and scenery. While there are some drawbacks, such as restroom accessibility and low lake water levels, the overall experience remains positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

The facilities were clean and the staff was great. It was Memorial Day weekend and an entire loop was closed. Whoever makes the decision to close loops on the busiest weekend of the year is an idiot. It cost no more to keep all the sites open. Why do you keep doing this?

Petersburg is always a great place to camp. The smites are large with enough privacy . Walking trails are good. Bathhouses within easy walking distance from most sites

Petersburg is always on top of our list to look for camping. Bathhouse is getting a little worn...but still hot water!

What a beautiful RV campground. Almost every site is on the water and absolutely beautiful. Bathrooms were good and we had no issues at all. Definitely will go back there again.

I have been a little disappointed by our camping at Petersburg site this year. We had neighbors who were loud and shining bright lights (very bright lights) until after midnight. It was always my understanding that campsites should be quiet by around 10 PM. Also, there was a broken toilet in the ladies room that was not fixed over two days of camping. It used to be that the bathrooms were cleaned very early every morning. However, even with those unfortunate experiences, we will return to Petersburg and hope that things improve. We tent camp, which becomes more difficult each year as more rock/gravel is added to campsites for those with campers. It's hard to drive in tent stakes. However, the campsites are large and private and the bathhouse has hot water. Hope this helps someone else!
