The 2 Women staffing the gate and camp were the most helpful I have ever interacted with!! I had a great site, except the water was extremely low so I wasn't able to put kayak in from site due to mud, but used boat launch. Information about lowered water levels tho would be greatly appreciated on line!!
Again the site was great, however ANTS were Horrible!
Don't understand how the "Powers that be" won't allow sharing the info that ants are horrible!!! Waking up in the middle of the night with ANTS crawling all over the entire camper is horrible!! Same with GA State Parks!!
Presumably the Powers that be do not camp!? Otherwise they would jump at the opportunity to inform guests and/or sell/give ant repellants!! Staff isn't allowed to post a sign. Obviously, "that then spend a couple days tracking and killing all the ants and/or fumigating- impossible with an animal by the way.

The attendants and the place are both welcoming and comforting. Large scenic private lots. Wish it was open year round.

I found the campsites spotless and well cared for. Nanette at check in is fantastic. She is very informative and helpful. The campground is well laid out and there is easy access to the sites with few obstructions. Great access to the lake from each site.

We love camping at Winfield, it is one of three of our favorite campgrounds! Tonya and Nanette are absolutely wonderful hosts! They keep the bath houses very clean and supplied. All the areas in the campground are kept clean from limbs, trash and pinestraw. The trash dump area is always clean and tidy and the dumpsters are never overflowing. There is always plenty of room to put your trash. When any kind of problem arises, Tonya and Nanette are always very quick to take care of whatever the problem may be! What we also like about these two ladies is the fact that they enforce all the rules and regulations for the Core of Engineer campground. That is a must in our opinion and they do not falter! They are truly what all campgrounds need to keep them running smoothly!
