About Frank Gross Campground

Frank Gross is a U.S. Forest Service Campground located approximately 2 hours north of Atlanta in the North Georgia Mountains of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Frank Gross Campground offers visitors year-round recreation opportunities such as camping, fishing, picnicking, and hiking. Trout fishing is popular here in North Georgia so having a campsite such as Frank Gross adjacent to the Rock Creek is an amazing opportunity for avid fisherman. Eight campsites are neatly arranged for privacy and only walking distance to Rock Creek. Campsites 2 & 5 are directly next to the River. The climate here is fairly mild and generally offers all four seasons, so it's a wonderful place to relax and experience each of these throughout the year. North Georgia is a playground for wildlife watchers. We have an abundance of Deer, Turkey, Bear, and small Furbearers. If you need to get away from civilization and everyday life, please visit Frank Gross Campground. You'll be glad you did.

Great campsite!
Caught several trout right at camp....
Great place to fly fish!
Even had a bear stop in to complete our experience.
I hope no one finds out about this place

Someone needs to cut dead trees before they fall on someone. Grass had not been cut. Did not stock fish in the campground. If I’m going to pay to camp, they could atleast stock it

Very secluded campground with only 7 sites. The bathrooms were very basic with no running water but very clean and well maintained. Great fishing spot, and hikes nearby. Gravel road for last 4 miles. Also well-maintained and in September did. Kt require 4WD.

We always love this campground because of its many areas along the creek and in a nice little cul-de-sac that is great for the kids to run around and play in.

very nice campground. Clean pit toilet. I did have to prune several limbs to get truck camper into site or risk possible damage which is why I gave just four stars. I pretty much expect to prune limbs most everywhere I go.

Road a little rough in but the creek and woods and sites could not be better. Such peace and quiet and didn't care that there was no cell phone signal. I will be back.

Bring a bow saw, axe, or some type of splitting wedge. The firewood you can find is in very large stump cuts. It’s available but you’ll have to make it smaller. Good place though.
