What has happened to this campground. we were here last year and it was kept up beautifully. This year it was so rundown. Bathhouses were a disaster... Filthy...Campground was so unkept....Poison ivy and poison oak everywhere. Not a single camp host came around to check anything. Campsites were a mess on arrival. A few mowers came around but did the absolute minimum of work. Sad to say we wont return to Sweetwater campground again.

Stayed in campsite 148 for four nights. We were mostly shaded all day. I will try to get the same campsite next year. Maybe even longer than I stayed this year. Great site.

The new management is doing everything they can to reduce loyal campers!
Okay it was my fault for not paying attention to that when making the reservation, but......
NEW camping policy - check out at 11 AM.
WHAT??? WHY???
Do you have to clean the beds or need to vacuum the lots? Are we here in a hotel?
In the past, you could sleep well, have a relaxing breakfast, pack everything, swim in the lake, maybe have a lunch, and then drive home safe.
NOW, even when you're already packing in a rush, a "friendly ranger" drives by at 10:30 and reminds you that you and your stuff have to be behind the gates by 11 AM.
A real NERVE!!!
And BE CAREFUL when booking!
Also NEW policy, no matter when, the cancellation fee is always charged.
SWEETWATER, you'll never see me and my family again after so many years!

We have been frequent visitors to this campsite for the past 8 years, often staying multiple times a year. It has always been a great place to stay. However, the new policy requiring check-out at 11 AM, similar to a hotel, has significantly impacted our experience in a negative way. This change is extremely inconvenient and detracts from the relaxed atmosphere we’ve come to expect. If this decision was made to encourage booking an extra night, it is very disappointing. Unfortunately, this new policy has made our stay quite unpleasant and has eliminated all the desire to book our stay again as we did every year

WARNING, WARNING!! Worst Site EVER-I'm sorry, we love Sweetwater and stay there often. This site is ABSOLUTELY not for a TT over 20 feet long in my opinion. We have a 30 foot TT which is well within the length allowed per the description and we had an awful time pulling in AND out of this site. There is a BOULDER across the road which makes it impossible to maneuver into the site!!!!! Love Sweetwater, hated this site!!!

Loved our site #2! So nice and woody. There are a variety of types of sites throughout the park. Some are wide open some are right on the water others are wooded. My only complaint about the park is so many sites and so few showers. There are only two bath houses and each one only has two showers for over 150 sites.
Must visit Big Door Vineyard!
