Site did not work for our camper due to steps. In order to reach the utilities we had to be in a spot where our steps interfered with the site steps making it dangerous for us as older people. We stayed one night of our 7 booked and had to leave.

Our site had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Previous visitors left trash in the fire pit and there was dog poo all over the camping area.

We always enjoy camping here. Beautiful camp sites with lake views. Well maintained grounds and bath houses.

Attendants were all very nice and helpful. We had a great trip , despite the rain. The only negative was the grass needed cutting, and they are letting the tree line and access to the lake, encroaching closer and unaccessible to water.
We did not go to beach or bathrooms so can not speak to those.
But the dump station water nozzles were cut off not allowing to flush tanks. Very inconvenient .
We will be back.

Really good place to disconnect. Only thing I would change is the check-in and out times.

Beautiful campground. Very friendly gate staff. Bathrooms were yuck and very far away. Maybe a little bleach and a power wash would make them better.

Got a great site with more than average room around it, no neighbors for 5 days. Met some nice other campers, dogs played together. Lots of friendly people. The lake traffic was quieter than usual and the bathrooms were cleaner.
Note: staff tries to keep the bathrooms clean but neighborhood kids have been known to hop the fence, get in there, and do mischief.
Two really friendly hosts checked us in. They looked like maybe they were sisters and had interesting African names. That sort of greeting sets a great mood for the stay.

We loved Sweetwater Campground! The location is awesome - close access to Atlanta plus other area attractions, like Amicalola Falls. We went to a Braves game - fun! Paddled the lake over to JD's BBQ on the Lake - fun spot to hang out. The campground was clean and most sites are huge and many are waterfront. Normally we drive around and pick out our favorite site for the future. In this case, we were hard-pressed to find many sites we wouldn't want to use. Definitely on our list to come back!
